While this guide is not meant to be a full manual of the Avaya PBX and phone system, I am hoping it can be used to by people with limited telephony experience, but may have to carry out some basic operations...
GEDI
GEDI is an abbreviation for Graphically Enhanced DEFINITY Interface and is a graphic interface for the terminal emulator. If you cannot perform a particular task with the general tasks in the Site Administration Tool, you can do it using the GEDI.
To start the GEDI click “Start GEDI” from the General tab.
To use the GEDI you can type in a command from the command window.
See ‘Getting Help’ for information on commands available.
Just type ‘help’ to get a list of commands. To get help on a particular command type the command followed by help.
For example, typing ‘list help’ brings up all of the options for the command ‘list’.
