While this guide is not meant to be a full manual of the Avaya PBX and phone system, I am hoping it can be used to by people with limited telephony experience, but may have to carry out some basic operations...
Bridged calls
Bridged call alerting allows an extension to appear as an additional extension. A common scenario is an executive assistant or secretary who covers their manager’s telephone. If the telephone has a display, you can see where the incoming call is coming from.
To add a bridged extension, program a button with the function:
brdg-appr with the extension you would like to cover.
If you would like the telephone to actually ring when the bridged extension gets a call you need to set the advanced option ‘Bridged Call Alerting’ to ‘y’. The setting is usually ‘n’ by default.
