A common scenario is an executive assistant or secretary who covers their manager’s telephone. If the telephone has a display, you can see where the incoming call is coming from.
 
To add a bridged extension, program a button with the function:
 
brdg-appr with the extension you would like to cover.
 
If you would like the telephone to actually ring when the bridged extension gets a call you need to set the advanced option ‘Bridged Call Alerting’ to ‘y’. The setting is usually ‘n’ by default.
